NiceRx works with state-licensed compounding pharmacies that compound semaglutide base form (not semaglutide salts) using the same active ingredient as Wegovy and Ozempic.
Where is compounded semaglutide made?
NiceRx works with state-licensed compounding pharmacies that made compounded semaglutide in compliance with state and federal laws. Compounding of medications is regulated by the FDA and state boards of pharmacy and the compounding pharmacy is required to adhere to state and federal laws.
What are the dosing guidelines for compounded semaglutide?
For people that are starting on compounded semaglutide, the starting dose is typically 0.25 mg weekly and the dose is gradually increased every 4 weeks until a suitable maintenance dose is reached. If a prescription is approved, the healthcare provider will work with you to determine the most suitable dosing schedule.
How do you use compounded semaglutide?
Compounded semaglutide is supplied in a small multi-dose vial alongside syringes that you will prepare for your weekly dose to safely self-administer.
To prepare each weekly dose, use the alcohol swab provided to clean the top of the vial, and then carefully draw the prescribed amount of medication into the syringe. Similar to Ozempic and Wegovy, compounded semaglutide should be injected once per week (on the same day) under the skin of your abdomen (stomach), thigh or upper arm.

Compounded semaglutide
Compounded semaglutide is an injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) prescription drug that can help people with obesity (BMI ≥30) or overweight (BMI ≥27) to lose weight and keep it off. This medication should be used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Semaglutide is injected subcutaneously once weekly. Semaglutide is typically initiated at a low dose and is gradually increased over time.
If the patient does not tolerate a specific dose during the dose escalation period, consider delaying the dose escalation for 4 weeks.
You can administer at any time of the day, on the same day each week, with or without meals. Inject subcutaneously in the stomach (abdomen), thigh, or upper arm, and make sure to change the injection site with each dose.
