The Most Zen States in America

There’s no denying that 2020 wasn’t exactly the easiest year, with plenty of hurdles to overcome. However, with these challenges came an opportunity. More time spent at home meant more time to concentrate on both our physical and mental wellbeing, with millions of Americans turning to Google for help and advice.

Using Google search data, we’ve created a ranking of the most zen states in America. We looked at hundreds of different search terms, split out across 7 different categories, calculating the total number of searches made in each state. We then compared this to the population size of each state, to give us a “searches per 100,000 people” total.
