What is Alfamino Infant?
Alfamino Infant is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Nestlé Health Science. Alfamino Infant is a hypoallergenic amino acid-based formula for infants ages 0-12 months with cow’s milk protein allergy, multiple food allergies, and malabsorptive conditions. DHA/ARA. This nutritionally complete formula provides nutrients that infants need for growth and development and has a unique fat blend containing medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) to facilitate fat absorption.
Alfamino infant formula is lactose-free and gluten-free and designed to reduce the risk of further allergic reactions in a child with Cows’ Milk Protein Allergy, promote adequate growth in healthy infants, and meet the AAP criteria for hypoallergenicity.
Mothers are encouraged to continue breastfeeding even when their infants have cows’ milk protein allergy, and to seek counseling to help completely remove all sources of cows’ milk protein from their diets.
