What is Fleqsuvy?

Fleqsuvy (baclofen oral suspension) is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured for Azurity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. It is classed as a gamma-aminobutyric acid agonist for the treatment of spasticity resulting from multiple sclerosis, especially for the relief of flexor spasms as well as pain, clonus, and muscular rigidity. Fleqsuvy may also be used in patients with spinal cord injuries and other spinal cord diseases.

Fleqsuvy has certain limitations of use, in that it is not recommended for the treatment of skeletal muscle spasm resulting from rheumatic disorders.

What doses of Fleqsuvy are available?

Fleqsuvy is available as an oral suspension, in the following doses: 25 mg per 5 mL (5 mg/mL).

Fleqsuvy is a concentrated formulation. Begin treatment with a low dosage, in divided doses. Increase your dose based on your clinical response and tolerability. The maximum recommended dosage is 80 mg daily (20 mg four times a day).

Fleqsuvy active ingredients

Fleqsuvy contains baclofen, which belongs to a group of medications called muscle relaxants.

Fleqsuvy side effects

The most common side effects of Fleqsuvy in clinical trials include:

  • Drowsiness and sedation
  • Dizziness
  • Weakness

In rare instances, Fleqsuvy can cause more serious side effects. These can include:

  • Neonatal withdrawal symptoms – reduce the dose gradually
  • Exacerbation of psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, or confusional states, autonomic dysreflexia, and epilepsy

Fleqsuvy contraindications

You should not use Fleqsuvy if you:

  • Are allergic to the active ingredient baclofen
  • Are allergic to any of the other ingredients in Fleqsuvy
  • Are younger than 12 years of age
  • Are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant

Talk to your doctor before using Fleqsuvy if you:

  • Are taking any of the medications that could interact with Fleqsuvy
  • Have impaired renal function
  • Are breastfeeding or are planning to breastfeed

Fleqsuvy is the trademark brand name for baclofen manufactured for Azurity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. A generic version of baclofen is not available. Generic drugs are generally cheaper than brand-name drugs, but you can still find Fleqsuvy savings through NiceRx.
