Am I eligible for Hymovis patient assistance?

We review each Hymovis enrollment application individually to determine if you are eligible. Each assistance program has its own eligibility criteria and the factors considered by most programs are:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico
  • I am uninsured or my insurance doesn’t cover my medication
  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for the Hymovis patient assistance program?

Our process makes it as easy as possible to apply for the Hymovis patient assistance program. Begin by completing the enrollment application form on our website. Tell us about any medications that you are taking, including Hymovis, your healthcare provider, your insurance plan, and your household income. This information is required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers who will supply the medication, so it is important to make sure this information is accurate and up to date.

We will review the information that you have provided to determine whether you are eligible for patient assistance. If we can pre-qualify you for assistance, NiceRx will handle the full enrollment process on your behalf. If you are approved by the pharmaceutical company, you will typically start receiving your medication in 6 – 8 weeks.

What is Hymovis?

Hymovis (hyaluronan) is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Fidia Farmaceutici S.p.A. It is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, high molecular weight, viscoelastic hydrogel derivative product, used for intra-articular injection.

Hymovis is similar to the synovial fluid that surrounds the joints in your body. This fluid normally acts as a lubricant and shock absorber for the joints. Hymovis is used to treat knee pain caused by osteoarthritis of the knee. It is usually given after other pain relief treatments such as non-pharmacologic therapy or simple analgesics such as NSAIDs or acetaminophen have failed to work.

The safety and effectiveness of the use of Hymovis in joints other than the knee, or for use concomitantly with other intra-articular injections, have not been established. The effectiveness of repeat treatment cycles of Hymovis has not been established.

What doses of Hymovis are available?

Hymovis is available in injection form, in the following doses: 30 mg/2 mL, 88 mg/4 mL, and 24 mg/3 mL.

Hymovis is injected directly into your knee joint. A healthcare provider will give you this injection. Hymovis will be administered in a convenient 2-injection regimen, with additional injections usually given at least 1 week after your first injection. Joint effusion should be removed prior to injection of Hymovis.

Always speak with a healthcare professional about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.

Hymovis active ingredients

The active ingredient of Hymovis is hyaluronic acid, which is classed as a viscosupplementation agent.
