What is Lartruvo?

Lartruvo is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Eli Lilly and Company. Approval was based on results from the JGDG trial, conducted to evaluate the safety and efficacy of olaratumab in combination with doxorubicin. The study met the overall survival, progression-free survival, and objective response rate end-points.

Lartruvo is a platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFR-α) blocking antibody used with doxorubicin, to treat adult patients with advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) with a histologic subtype that is not amenable to treatment with radiotherapy or surgery. This use is approved under accelerated approval. Continued approval for this indication may be based on clinical benefit in the confirmatory trial.

What doses of Lartruvo are available?

Lartruvo is available in injection form, in the following doses: 500 mg/50 mL.

Administer at 15 mg/kg as an intravenous infusion over 60 minutes on Days 1 and 8 of each 21-day cycle until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. For the first 8 cycles administer with doxorubicin. On Day 1 of cycle 1, premedicate with diphenhydramine and dexamethasone intravenously.

Please read the full prescribing information and always speak with a healthcare professional about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.
