Niferex is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Avion Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Niferex is a combination of ascorbic acid and polysaccharide iron complex. It is a dietary iron supplement used to prevent and treat iron deficiencies and iron deficiency anemia. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) improves the absorption of iron from the stomach.

What doses of Niferex are available?

Niferex is available in capsule form, in the following doses: 567.7 mg ferrous (II) glycine-sulfate complex per capsule.

Niferex is best taken on an empty stomach, with a full glass of water, 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Take with food if stomach upset occurs. Avoid antacids, dairy products, tea, or coffee within 2 hours before or after this medication as it will decrease its effectiveness. Keep out of the reach of children to prevent accidental overdose.

Always speak with a healthcare professional for medical advice about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.
