What is Peptamen AF?

Peptamen AF is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Nestlé Health Science. Peptamen AF is a peptide-based nutritionally complete formula with added fish oil designed for those with impaired GI function who are facing metabolic-stress medical conditions such as sepsis and critical illness with GI dysfunction. Peptamen AF:

  • Has a balanced peptide profile that promotes GI absorption and tolerance
  • Is suitable for gluten-free and lactose intolerance diets
  • Is not suitable for people with galactosemia
  • Is not appropriate for individuals with cow’s milk protein allergy

What doses of Peptamen AF are available?

Peptamen AF is available in unflavored liquid form, in the following doses: 1.5 kcal/mL.

Peptamen tube-feeding formulas are specialized enteral nutrition designed to support absorption and tolerance in individuals with gastrointestinal disorders (GI). Peptamen tube-feeding formulas are recommended for patients who:

  • Cannot tolerate formulas with intact or whole protein
