NiceRx verifies your eligibility for medication assistance and notifies you if you are qualified. The pharmaceutical company provides your medication for free and you only pay our service fee.
You may be required to submit further information and documents required by the pharmaceutical company which can be securely uploaded online.
Your application is created and sent to your doctor for signature. At this stage, you will be billed $49 and will not be billed again until you receive your first medication delivery.

What is Phenex-2?
Phenex-2 (Amino Acid-Modified Medical Food) is an oral supplement class medication manufactured by Abbott Nutrition. It is for the nutritional support of children and adults with phenylketonuria (PKU), used under medical supervision.
Important facts about Phenex-2:
- It is phenylalanine-free to allow greater intake of intact protein
- Has a nutrient profile specifically designed for children and adults
- Contains L-tyrosine, an essential amino acid often deficient in patients with PKU
- Contains L-carnitine (40 mg/100 g) and taurine (125 mg/100 g) to help supply amounts normally found in foods of animal origin
- Contains approximately 30% of energy as fat to help supply essential fatty acids
- Is non-GMO (genetically modified)
- Contains DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid an omega-3 fatty acid) to support the brain and eyes
- Contains protein equivalent to 30 g, fat equivalent to 14 g, and carbohydrate equivalent to 35 g
- Is lactose-free, and gluten-free
- Is Halal
What doses of Phenex-2 are available?
Phenex-2 is available in vanilla or unflavored powder form, in the following doses: 14.1 oz (400 g).
Phenex-2 must be supplemented with protein and fluid in prescribed amounts to completely meet phenylalanine and water requirements. Phenex-2 is not intended as a sole source of nutrition. Always speak with your healthcare provider about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.

Phenex-2 side effects

Phenex-2 drug interactions
Other drugs may interact with Phenex-2, including prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell your health care provider about all of your medicines including any supplements you are taking.
You should not use Phenex-2 if you:
- Are allergic to the active ingredients in Phenex-2
- Are allergic to any of the other ingredients in Phenex-2
- Are under 1 year of age
Talk to your doctor before using Phenex-2 if you:
- Are taking any medications that could interact with Phenex-2
- Are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant
- Are breastfeeding or are planning to breastfeed
Phenex-2 is manufactured by Abbott Nutrition. A generic version of Phenex-2 is not available. Generic drugs are generally cheaper than brand-name drugs, but you can still find Phenex-2 savings through NiceRx.
*Qualifying persons may obtain medications directly from patient assistance programs without any out-of-pocket cost (or for less than $49 per medication). However, our monthly flat rate of just $49 per medication spares you the hassle of tracking down the different programs and filling out all the required paperwork for each program.

**If you do not receive medications because you were determined to be ineligible for the prescription assistance by the applicable pharmaceutical companies and you have a letter of denial, we will refund any fees you paid toward medications for which you did not qualify to receive prescription assistance (“Refund”).
To receive a refund, you must send the letter of denial to us by fax to 888-517-7444, or by e-mail to [email protected] within 30 days of your receipt of such letter. The Refund is your sole and exclusive remedy for any fees you may wish to dispute.
