  • Receive medication

    Once approved, the pharmaceutical company typically ships a 90-day supply of medication to your home or healthcare provider’s address. Final acceptance is determined by the pharmaceutical company.

Your monthly ReliOn Novolog cost savings if eligible

If you are eligible for the ReliOn Novolog patient assistance program you can receive your medication for free. Our monthly service fee of $49 per medication covers the cost of our services in applying for the program and requesting your ongoing refills on your behalf. If you obtain your ReliOn Novolog through NiceRx, you will only pay $49 a month regardless of the retail price of your medication.

Am I eligible for the ReliOn Novolog patient assistance program?

You could receive your ReliOn Novolog without paying the full retail price if you meet the eligibility criteria for assistance. The eligibility requirements are set by the pharmaceutical companies that are providing assistance programs. At NiceRx, we review each application individually, although the main factors considered by most programs are:

We will handle the enrollment process for you by working with your healthcare provider and preparing all the required paperwork for your doctor to sign. We will also request your ReliOn Novolog medication refills on your behalf for up to 1 year once you are enrolled in the program.

What is ReliOn Novolog?

ReliOn Novolog is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Novo Nordisk and available in Walmart pharmacies and Sam’s Club pharmacies. The affordability of Walmarts’ human insulin has been welcomed by the American diabetes association. Novolog is a rapid-acting human insulin analog used to improve the control of high blood sugar in adults and pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

What doses of ReliOn Novolog are available?

Novolog is available for injection, in 10 mL vials, 3 mL pen fill cartridges for the insulin pen device, 3 mL Novolog FlexPen, or 3 mL Novolog FlexTouch.

ReliOn Novolog may be given by subcutaneous injection, continuous subcutaneous infusion using an insulin pump, or intravenously. Dosage adjustments may be needed with changes in physical activity, meal patterns, renal or hepatic function, or during an acute illness.

ReliOn Novolog active ingredients

ReliOn Novolog contains insulin aspart, an analog insulin, as the active ingredient.

ReliOn Novolog side effects

The most common side effects of ReliOn Novolog in clinical trials include:

  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
  • Allergic reactions
  • Local injection site reactions
  • Lipodystrophy
  • Weight gain
  • Rash
  • Pruritus

In rare instances, ReliOn Novolog can cause more serious side effects. These can include:

  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) – increase how often blood glucose is monitored when there are changes to insulin dosage, other glucose-lowering drugs, changes in meal pattern, or physical activity in those patients with renal or hepatic impairment, and in patients with hypoglycemia unawareness. Symptoms of low blood sugar levels include anxiety, behavior similar to being drunk, blurred vision, cold sweats, confusion, depression, lightheadedness, drowsiness, hunger, fast heartbeat, headache, irritability, restless sleep, and tingling in the hands, feet, lips, or tongue
  • Severe life-threatening hypersensitivity reactions
  • Hypokalemia (low potassium levels)
  • Fluid retention and heart failure when used with thiazolidinediones

ReliOn Novolog drug interactions

Other drugs may interact with ReliOn Novolog, including prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell your health care provider about all of your medications including any supplements you are taking.

ReliOn Novolog contraindications

You should not use ReliOn Novolog if you:

  • Are allergic to the active ingredient insulin aspart
  • Are allergic to any of the other ingredients in ReliOn Novolog
  • Are having an episode of hypoglycemia

Talk to your doctor before using ReliOn Novolog if you:

  • Are taking any of the medications that could interact with ReliOn Novolog
  • Are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding or are planning to breastfeed

ReliOn Novolog generic

ReliOn Novolog is the trademark brand name for insulin aspart manufactured by Novo Nordisk. A generic version of insulin aspart is not available. Generic drugs are generally cheaper than brand-name drugs, but you can still find ReliOn Novolog savings through NiceRx.

To receive a refund, you must send the letter of denial to us by fax to 888-517-7444, or by e-mail to [email protected] within 30 days of your receipt of such letter. The Refund is your sole and exclusive remedy for any fees you may wish to dispute.
