  • Submit documents

We will request documents to be submitted by you and your healthcare provider that are required by the pharmaceutical company to complete your enrollment.

What is Stromectol?

Stromectol is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Merck. Stromectol is indicated for the treatment of infections in the body caused by intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis, tropical infections caused by parasitic worms. Topical ivermectin is used to treat head lice and rosacea.

You may be infected with parasites such as Loa loa if you have traveled or lived in West or Central Africa. These parasites may cause problems with treatment. Pretreatment assessment for Loa loa infection should be carried out for any person with exposure to endemic areas.

What doses of Stromectol are available?

Stromectol is available in tablet form, in the following doses: 3 mg.

Swallow Stromectol tablets whole with a glass of water, on an empty stomach, or 2 hours before or 2 hours after a meal. Your dose will depend on the disease, and your body weight.

A single dose is normally used for the treatment of strongyloidiasis and scabies. A second dose may be required after 2 weeks. In the case of onchocerciasis, it is recommended you take this medication two or three times a year. If you have a weak immune system you may need to take more than one dose of ivermectin.

Always speak with a healthcare professional for medical advice about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.
