  • Submit documents

We will request documents to be submitted by you and your healthcare provider that are required by the pharmaceutical company to complete your enrollment.

  • Receive medication

Once approved, the pharmaceutical company typically ships a 90-day supply of medication to your home or healthcare provider’s address. Final acceptance is determined by the pharmaceutical company.

Your monthly Symdeko cost savings if eligible

Am I eligible for the Symdeko patient assistance program?

To find out if you are eligible for Symdeko assistance you can apply online using our enrollment application. Each pharmaceutical company sets its eligibility criteria, and we will review your application individually to determine if you may be eligible. The three main factors to consider are:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico
  • I am uninsured or my insurance doesn’t cover my medication
  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for the Symdeko patient assistance program?

Our application process aims to make it as easy as possible to apply for the Symdeko patient assistance program. The first step is to complete our online enrollment application. We will ask you for details about your healthcare provider, your insurance plan, and your household income as this information is required by the pharmaceutical companies. We may be able to help you apply for other patient assistance programs too, so be sure to tell us about any medications you are taking as well as Symdeko.

NiceRx will review your application and determine whether you may be eligible for Symdeko assistance. If so, we will handle the full enrollment process for you and prepare all required documents for your healthcare provider to sign. Once you are successfully enrolled in the Symdeko patient assistance program, we will help you manage your prescription refills by requesting refills on your behalf throughout your enrollment period. At the end of your enrollment period, we will contact you for updated information and seek to re-enroll you so you can continue to access affordable Symdeko.

Is NiceRx a Symdeko coupons provider?

NiceRx is a service provider that helps eligible individuals access the Symdeko patient assistance program. We do not offer trial offers or free Symdeko samples. This will likely save you more money than if you were to use Symdeko coupons, discount cards, or Symdeko copay cards.

What is Symdeko?

Symdeko is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated. Symdeko is a combination of tezacaftor and ivacaftor, indicated for the treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis, CF aged 12 years and older who are homozygous for the F508del mutation or who have at least one mutation in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR gene) that is responsive to tezacaftor/ivacaftor based on in vitro data and/or clinical evidence. Symdeko is now approved for patients 6 years of age and older with two copies of the F508del mutation.

If the patient’s genotype is unknown, an FDA-cleared CF mutation test should be used to detect the presence of a CFTR mutation followed by verification with bi-directional sequencing when recommended by the mutation test instructions for use.

A healthy CFTR protein helps cells move chloride, an element in salt, to the cell surface. In CF, the body creates a “broken” CFTR protein that cannot move chloride properly. Without chloride, water isn’t attracted to the cell surface, resulting in a thick, sticky mucus building up in the lungs and other organs.

What doses of Symdeko are available?

Symdeko is available in tablet form, in the following doses: tezacaftor 100 mg/ivacaftor 150 mg fixed-dose combination tablets and ivacaftor 150 mg tablets

The recommended dose in adults and pediatric patients ages 12 years and older is one tablet (containing tezacaftor 100 mg/ivacaftor 150 mg) in the morning and one tablet (containing ivacaftor 150 mg) in the evening, approximately 12 hours apart. Symdeko should be taken with fat-containing food. Reduce the dose in patients with moderate and severe hepatic impairment, and when co-administered with drugs that are moderate or strong CYP3A inhibitors.

If you miss a dose, take the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if you are more than 6 hours late. Do not take two doses at one time. Be sure to take a missed dose with a food that contains fat. Please read the prescribing information, and always speak with your healthcare provider for medical advice or about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.
