What is Veletri?

Veletri contains the prescription medicine epoprostenol, which is classed as a prostaglandin. Prostaglandins are found in almost every part of your body and have a wide range of effects on your body. Veletri is used for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and to help improve your ability to exercise.

Veletri is injected using an infusion pump. This is normally through a permanent central intravenous (IV) catheter placed into a large vein. A healthcare professional will give your first dose and will show you how to properly use the medication yourself. Veletri treatment should not be stopped suddenly. Doing this can make your condition worse. You will need a spare infusion pump, replacement batteries, and an extra IV infusion set, to make sure there are no breaks in your treatment. Also, you may need to take Veletri for a long time.

Veletri active ingredients

Your blood pressure and heart rate will also need to be checked whenever your dose is changed. You should call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse.
