What is Vistogard?
Vistogard is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Wellstat Therapeutics Corporation. Vistogard is a pyrimidine analog used for the emergency treatment of adult and pediatric patients after a fluorouracil or capecitabine overdose regardless of the presence of symptoms, or in patients who have early-onset, severe or life-threatening toxicity affecting the cardiac or central nervous system, and/or early-onset, abnormally severe adverse reactions (such as gastrointestinal toxicity and/or neutropenia) within 96 hours of ending treatment with fluorouracil or capecitabine administration.
Vistogard has certain limitations of use, including not being recommended for the non-emergent treatment of adverse reactions associated with 5-fluorouracil or capecitabine because it may reduce the efficacy of these drugs.
What doses of Vistogard are available?
Vistogard is available as oral granules, in the following doses: 10-gram packets.

Measure the correct dose to 0.1 gram, or a graduated teaspoon accurate to ¼ teaspoon. Mix each dose with 3 to 4 ounces of soft foods such as applesauce, yogurt, or pudding, and consume within 30 minutes. Drink at least 4 ounces of water.
