What is Vivonex Plus?

Vivonex Plus is manufactured by Nestle Healthcare Nutrition. It is an elemental formula containing 100% free amino acids with a low-fat content for those with severely impaired GI function, including fat malabsorption, Cystic fibrosis, transitional feeding, extensive bowel resection, malabsorption syndrome, select trauma/surgery, early postoperative feeding, intestinal failure, catabolic patients, pancreatitis, chylothorax, trophic feeding, TPN alternative, and dual feeding with TPN. Vivonex Plus formula:

  • May contain insufficient quantities of fatty acid to meet the (EFA) requirements
  • Should only be used under medical supervision
  • Is only appropriate for use by people ages 3 and older
  • May be used for tube feeding or oral supplementation
  • Contains only 6% of kcal from fat for improved tolerance and reduced pancreatic stimulation
  • Needs minimal digestive functionality for assimilation while providing benefits associated with continued use of the GI tract
  • Is suitable for lactose-free, gluten-free, and kosher diets
