Your monthly Vizimpro cost savings if eligible

If you are eligible for the Vizimpro patient assistance program you can receive your medication for free. Our monthly service fee of $49 per medication covers the cost of our services in applying for the program and requesting your ongoing refills on your behalf. If you obtain your Vizimpro through NiceRx, you will only pay $49 a month regardless of the retail price of your medication.

Am I eligible for the Vizimpro patient assistance program?

You could receive your Vizimpro without paying the full retail price if you meet the eligibility criteria for assistance. The eligibility requirements are set by the pharmaceutical companies that are providing assistance programs. NiceRx will review the information you have provided, and if we determine that you may be eligible for assistance, we will seek to enroll you in the Vizimpro patient assistance program. We will handle the enrollment process for you by working with your healthcare provider and preparing all the required paperwork for your doctor to sign. We will also request your Vizimpro medication refills on your behalf for up to 1 year once you are enrolled in the program.

What is Vizimpro?

Vizimpro is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Pfizer Inc. It is classed as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor indicated for the first-line treatment of patients with metastatic NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer) with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 19 deletion or exon 21 L858R substitution mutations as detected by an FDA-approved test.

What doses of Vizimpro are available?

Vizimpro is available in tablet form, in the following doses: 15 mg, 30 mg, and 45 mg.

Vizimpro active ingredients

Vizimpro contains dacomitinib as the active ingredient.

Vizimpro side effects

The most common side effects of Vizimpro in clinical trials (incidence >20%) include:

  • Rash
  • Paronychia
  • Stomatitis
  • Decreased appetite, decreased appetite
  • Dry skin
  • Alopecia (hair loss)
  • Cough
  • Pruritus

In rare instances, Vizimpro can cause more serious side effects. These can include:

  • Interstitial lung disease (ILD)
  • Diarrhea – withhold and reduce the dose of Vizimpro based on the severity
  • Dermatologic adverse reactions – report any worsening skin reactions right away
  • Embryo-fetal toxicity – can cause fetal harm in pregnant women. Females of reproductive potential are advised to use effective contraception

Vizimpro drug interactions

Vizimpro can interact with other medications. These include:

  • Proton pump inhibitors – use locally-acting antacids or H2-receptor antagonist
  • CYP2D6 substrates – avoid concomitant use with Vizimpro where minimal increases in the concentration of the CYP2D6 substrate may lead to serious or life-threatening toxicities

This list is not exhaustive and other prescription drugs may interact with Vizimpro.

Vizimpro contraindications

You should not use Vizimpro if you:

  • Are allergic to the active ingredient dacomitinib
  • Are allergic to any of the other ingredients in Vizimpro
  • Are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant – You should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 17 days after your last dose

Talk to your doctor before using Vizimpro if you:

  • Are taking any of the medications that could interact with Vizimpro
  • Have renal impairment
  • Are breastfeeding or are planning to breastfeed

Vizimpro generic

Vizimpro is the trademark brand name for dacomitinib manufactured by Pfizer Inc. A generic version of dacomitinib is not available. Generic drugs are generally cheaper than brand-name drugs, but you can still find Vizimpro savings through NiceRx.
