What is Xeglyze?

Xeglyze (abametapir) lotion is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. It is a pediculicide for the topical treatment of head lice infestation in patients 6 months of age and older. Xeglyze is recommended to be used in the context of an overall lice management program.

Dry-clean all clothes recently worn, hats, used bedding, and towels, or wash with hot water. Also, wash personal care items such as combs, brushes, and hair clips in hot water, and use a fine-tooth comb or a nit comb to remove dead lice.

What doses of Xeglyze are available?

Xeglyze is available as a lotion dosage form, in the following doses: 0.74%.

Apply Xeglyze to dry hair to coat the hair and scalp completely. Do not get this medication in your eyes. Massage into the scalp and the hair. Rinse off with warm water after 10 minutes. Xeglyze is a single application. Discard any unused product.

Please read the full prescribing information and the medication labeling provided and always speak with your healthcare provider about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.
