What is Brexafemme?

Brexafemme (ibrexafungerp tablets) is a prescription medication manufactured by Scynexis, Inc. It is a triterpenoid antifungal non-azole with FDA approval (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) for the treatment of adult and post-menarchal pediatric females with vulvovaginal candidiasis, VVC (vaginal yeast infections).

Brexafemme has a fungicidal mechanism of action that kills a wide range of Candida species, including strains resistant to azole antifungal medications such as fluconazole and itraconazole.
