What is Detrol?
Detrol is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Pfizer. Detrol is an antimuscarinic used to treat overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and frequency.
What doses of Detrol are available?
Detrol is available in immediate-release tablet form, in the following doses: 2 mg.
It is also available as Detrol LA (extended-release capsules), in the following doses: 2 mg, and 4 mg.

- Other anticholinergics (antimuscarinics) may increase the frequency and severity of dry mouth, constipation, and blurred vision

Detrol contraindications
You should not use Detrol if you:

- Have urinary retention, or gastric retention
- Have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
- Are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant
Talk to your doctor about your medical condition before using Detrol if you:
- Are taking any of the medications that could interact with Detrol
- Have stomach or intestinal disease
- Have severe constipation
- Have kidney disease
- Have liver disease
- Have myasthenia gravis
- Have a known history of QT prolongation
- Are taking Class IA (quinidine, procainamide) or Class III (amiodarone, sotalol) antiarrhythmic medications
- Are breastfeeding or are planning to breastfeed
