If you are eligible for the Impeklo patient assistance program, the cost of your medication will be free. We only charge $49 per month for each medication, to cover our service fees. You could receive your Impeklo prescription for just $49 a month, regardless of the retail price of your medication.

How do I apply for the Impeklo patient assistance program?

We make it as easy as possible to apply for the Impeklo patient assistance program. The first step is to complete our enrollment application. Tell us about any medications you are taking, including Impeklo. We will also ask for details about your healthcare provider, insurance, and your household income. This information is required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers who ship your medication.

If we determine that you may be eligible for Impeklo assistance, we will handle the application process for you. We will work directly with your healthcare provider to prepare your application documents. Once we have received the signed application and supporting documents, we will submit them to the patient assistance program on your behalf. Our service continues once you are enrolled in the Impeklo patient assistance program, and we will automatically request your Impeklo medication refills for up to 1 year.

What is Impeklo?

Impeklo is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication distributed by Mylan Specialty L.P. This medication is used by adults to treat a variety of skin conditions, such as eczema, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis.

Impeklo lotion is a topical steroid indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, in patients 18 years of age or older. Impeklo is not recommended for the treatment of rosacea or perioral dermatitis.

What doses of Impeklo are available?

Impeklo is available in lotion form, in the following doses: 0.05% w/w

Impeklo lotion should be applied directly onto the affected areas twice daily (do not exceed 10 actuations/application or 20 actuations/day) and rubbed in gently. Limit treatment to 2 weeks. For moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, treatment may be extended for another 2 weeks for localized lesions that have not improved. Do not exceed 50 g per week (i.e., 20 actuations/day for 7 days).

Impeklo active ingredients

Impeklo contains clobetasol propionate as the active ingredient.

Impeklo side effects

The most common side effects of Impeklo in clinical trials include:

  • Skin atrophy
  • Telangiectasia
  • Skin discomfort skin and dry skin

In rare instances, Impeklo can cause more serious side effects. These can include:

  • Clobetasol propionate is a highly potent topical corticosteroid that has been shown to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis at the lowest doses tested
  • Cushing’s syndrome, hyperglycemia, and unmasking of latent diabetes mellitus
  • Systemic absorption – may require periodic evaluation for HPA axis suppression
  • Increased risk of cataract and glaucoma
  • Local adverse reactions – folliculitis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, secondary infection, striae, and miliaria

Impeklo drug interactions

Other drugs may interact with Impeklo, including prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell your health care provider about all of your medicines including any supplements you are taking.

Impeklo contraindications

You should not use Impeklo if you:

  • Are allergic to the active ingredient clobetasol propionate
  • Have had an allergic reaction to any of the other ingredients in Impeklo

Talk to your doctor before using Impeklo if you:

  • Are taking any of the medications that could interact with Impeklo
  • Have had irritation or other skin reactions to a steroid medicine in the past
  • Have a skin infection
  • Have diabetes
  • Have adrenal gland problems
  • Have liver problems
  • Are planning to have surgery
  • Are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding or are planning to breastfeed

Impeklo generic

Impeklo is the trademark brand name for clobetasol propionate distributed by Mylan Specialty L.P. A generic version of clobetasol propionate is not available. Generic drugs are generally cheaper than brand-name drugs, but you can still find Impeklo savings through NiceRx.
