Am I eligible for the Locametz patient assistance program?

We will review your application to determine whether you are eligible for the Locametz patient assistance program. Each program has its own eligibility criteria which are set by the pharmaceutical companies, however, the factors considered by most programs are:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico

  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for the Locametz patient assistance program?

We make it as easy as possible to apply for the Locametz patient assistance program. The first step is to complete our enrollment application. Tell us about any medications you are taking, including Locametz. We will also ask for details about your healthcare provider, insurance, and your household income. This information is required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers who ship your medication.

If we determine that you may be eligible for Locametz assistance, we will handle the application process for you. We will work directly with your healthcare provider to prepare your application documents. Once we have received the signed application and supporting documents, we will submit them to the patient assistance program on your behalf. Our service continues once you are enrolled in the Locametz patient assistance program, and we will automatically request your Locametz medication refills for up to 1 year.

What is Locametz?

Locametz (kit for the preparation of gallium Ga 68 gozetotide injection) is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by Advanced Accelerator Applications, the radioligand business of Novartis. Locametz, after radiolabeling with gallium-68, is a radioactive diagnostic agent used for positron emission tomography of prostate-specific membrane antigen, (PSMA-positive lesions) in men with prostate cancer:

  • With suspected metastasis who are eligible for initial definitive therapy
  • With suspected recurrence based on increased serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels
  • For the selection of patients with metastatic prostate cancer, for whom lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan PSMA-directed therapy is indicated

Pluvicto (177Lu-vipivotide tetraxetan), referred to as 177Lu–prostate-specific membrane antigen–617 (177Lu-PSMA-617) is used to treat adult patients with PSMA-positive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who have been treated with androgen-receptor pathway inhibition and taxane-based chemotherapy.

What doses of Locametz are available?

Locametz is supplied in a multi-dose vial containing 25 mcg of gozetotide. After radiolabeling with gallium-68, the vial contains a sterile solution of gallium Ga 68 gozetotide at a strength of up to 1,369 MBq in up to 10 mL at the calibration date and time.

Gallium Ga 68 gozetotide uptake may occur in other tumors and in non-malignant processes. Evaluation of Locametz PET imaging with histopathology and other diagnostic procedures is required.

Please see the full prescribing information and always speak with your healthcare provider about any changes to your dose so they can monitor and evaluate your condition.
