What is Cialis?

Cialis is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. Cialis can be taken in two ways. You can swallow a pill before you plan to have sex. The effects of Cialis can last up to 36 hours, so this can give you enough time for some spontaneity. You can also take a lower dose of Cialis on a daily basis if you plan to have sex more frequently.

You get an erection when your penis fills with blood. Cialis helps with this by relaxing muscle tissue in the cavities inside your penis and the arteries leading to it, causing them to open. Cialis active ingredients

The active ingredient in Cialis is called tadalafil. Tadalafil makes the blood vessels leading to your penis, and cavities inside your penis, relax and open up. This increases the flow of blood to your penis and makes it fill and harden more easily.

Tadalafil does this by increasing the amount of a substance in your blood called cGMP. This substance makes muscle tissue in your blood vessels and penis relax. Your body naturally breaks down cGMP. It does this in your penis using an enzyme called PDE5. Tadalafil attaches itself to this PDE5 enzyme and stops it working. This causes cGMP to build up in the blood in your penis and the surrounding region.
