NiceRx verifies your eligibility for medication assistance and notifies you if you are pre-qualified. The pharmaceutical company provides your medication for free, and you only pay our service fee.

  • Submit documents

We will request documents to be submitted by you and your healthcare provider that are required by the pharmaceutical company to complete your enrollment.

  • Receive medication

Once approved, the pharmaceutical company typically ships a 90-day supply of medication to your home or healthcare provider’s address. Final acceptance is determined by the pharmaceutical company.

Am I eligible for the Prolia patient assistance program?

Each patient assistance program requires certain criteria for successful applicants, with most programs considering the following factors:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico
  • I am uninsured or my insurance doesn’t cover my medication
  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for the Prolia patient assistance program?

The NiceRx process for applying to patient assistance programs is simple and straightforward, making it as easy as possible to apply. You will need to start by completing our enrollment application. At this stage you will need to provide us with some important information. This includes any medications you’re taking, such as Prolia. We’ll also ask for details about your healthcare provider, insurance, and your household income. This information is required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers that ship your medication.

If we determine that you may be eligible for Prolia assistance, we’ll handle the full application process for you. We will help to enroll you in the Prolia patient assistance program and will request your Prolia medication refills on your behalf for up to 12 months if approved by the pharmaceutical company.

Is NiceRx a Prolia coupons provider?

At NiceRx, our service focuses on enrolling eligible individuals in patient assistance programs. It is not about securing cheap Prolia or providing Prolia coupons. We are not a Prolia discount card, or a Prolia copay card.

We are a service provider that helps eligible individuals access the Prolia patient assistance program. That means that we don’t provide Prolia manufacturer coupons, Prolia discounts, rebates, Prolia savings cards, trial offers, or free Prolia samples. If your application is successful and we are able to enroll you in the Prolia patient assistance program, you will only pay $49 per month.

Can NiceRx help me get Prolia if I have insurance?

At NiceRx we always review each application individually. Remember that we may be able to assist even if you don’t have insurance or if your insurance company won’t pay for your Prolia medication. This may also be the case if you have a high copay or coinsurance responsibility.

How much is Prolia with insurance?

The details of your healthcare plan will determine the cost of Prolia with insurance. To find out the specifics and the cost you may have to pay, contact your healthcare provider. A pharmacist may also be able to give you an indication of the potential cost.

How much does Prolia cost without insurance?

Prolia prices without insurance will vary depending on where you buy it, but you can expect to pay around $2,560 for a single 60 ml/mg syringe of Prolia. Remember that with NiceRx you’ll always pay a flat monthly fee of $49.

What is Prolia?

Prolia is a prescription medication used to treat bone loss and osteoporosis (a weakening of the bones). It’s used specifically to treat:

  • Osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who have a high risk of bone fractures
  • Osteoporosis in men who have a high risk of bone fractures
  • Bone loss in women who are receiving adjuvant aromatase inhibitor hormone therapy for breast cancer
  • Bone loss in men who are receiving androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for prostate cancer

Bone is a living tissue that needs to be maintained by your body. Certain conditions can interfere with this and can affect the health of your bones. This can lead to bone loss and a condition called osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a weakening of your bones that makes them more likely to fracture and break. It’s caused by not having enough bone mass or by losing too much bone mass.

The hormones estrogen and testosterone help keep your bones healthy. The menopause can cause levels of estrogen to fall in women, as can certain hormone therapies. This can lead to bone loss and osteoporosis. Likewise, declines in testosterone in men, such as those caused by prostate cancer treatments, can also result in bone loss and osteoporosis.

Prolia helps counter bone loss and osteoporosis by making your bones stronger and less likely to break. It comes as a liquid solution in a pre-filled syringe that is injected under the skin once every six months.

Prolia active ingredients

The active ingredient in Prolia is called denosumab. It helps counter bone loss and osteoporosis by reducing the rate at which your body loses bone tissue. Your body continually replaces old bone tissue with new bone tissue. A part of this process involves a protein called RANKL that helps produce a type of cell that breaks down bone.

Denosumab works by blocking RANKL, stopping it from producing the cells that break down bone. This reduces the rate at which your body removes bone tissue, causing bone mass to increase over time.

Prolia side effects & Prolia drug interactions

As is the case with most medications, Prolia can cause side effects. Before taking any medication it’s important to note that not everyone will experience the same side effects if any at all. The side effects most commonly caused by Prolia affect around 1 in 10 people. They include arm and leg pain, bone and joint pain, muscle pain, hair loss, constipation, skin rashes, and other conditions like eczema, frequent and painful urination, and blood in the urine.

In some cases, Prolia can cause more serious side effects, although this is much rarer. These can include allergic reactions to the medication, skin infections, bone damage in the jaw, low calcium levels in the blood, and unusual fractures of the thigh bone.

If you take more than one type of medication, they can potentially interact with each other. When this happens, it can affect how they work. Certain side effects may even become more likely. Medicines that may interact with Prolia include:

  • Medications that contain the same active ingredient as Prolia (denosumab), like Xgeva
  • Corticosteroids, like prednisolone or dexamethasone

Always tell your prescribing physician about any medication you’re taking.

Prolia warnings & precautions

Don’t take Prolia if you:

  • Are allergic to any of the other ingredients in Prolia (these are listed in the leaflet which comes with the medication)

  • Are under 18 years of age

Talk to your physician before taking Prolia if you:

  • Have poor dental health or any problems with your teeth or mouth, like gum disease
  • Are going to have a tooth extracted
  • Are a smoker (this can increase the risk of dental problems)
