If you meet the eligibility criteria, you could receive your Tarceva medication without paying the full retail price. Each Tarceva assistance program application is reviewed individually. The main factors that are likely to be considered by most programs include:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico

How do I apply for the Tarceva patient assistance program?

We take the stress out of applying for the Tarceva patient assistance program.

Begin the process by completing our enrollment application. We will need to know about any medications you’re taking, as well as Tarceva. You will need to tell us about your healthcare provider, your insurance, and your household income, as this important information is required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers that ship your medication.

If we determine that you may be eligible for assistance, we will help to enroll you in the Tarceva patient assistance program. NiceRx will handle all of the application process and will request your Tarceva medication refills on your behalf for up to 1 year, once you are enrolled.

Is NiceRx a Tarceva coupon provider?

NiceRx is a service provider that helps eligible individuals access the Tarceva patient assistance program. This means that we are not a Tarceva coupon or a Tarceva discount card. NiceRx does not offer printable coupons, manufacturer coupons, rebates, Tarceva savings cards, trial offers, or free samples of Tarceva.

Remember that when obtaining your Tarceva medication through NiceRx, your total cost for the medication will always be $49 per month.

Can NiceRx help me get Tarceva if I have insurance?

If your insurance company won’t pay for your Tarceva medication, you have a high copay or coinsurance responsibility, or you don’t have any insurance, we may be able to help.

How much is Tarceva with insurance?

The cost of Tarceva will vary by the healthcare plan. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist will be able to calculate your copay with your current insurance. Remember, you’ll likely save more if you get your Tarceva medication through NiceRx, if you’re approved for assistance.

What is Tarceva?

Tarceva is a medication that is taken to treat cancer. It’s used most often to treat late-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and pancreatic cancers. For NSCLC, Tarceva can be used in combination with some types of chemotherapy, especially if the first round of chemotherapy isn’t effective. For pancreatic cancer, Tarceva can be taken in combination with gemcitabine if your cancer is metastatic (has spread).

The medication is taken orally, usually swallowed as a tablet. It can be prescribed as the first medication to treat cancer but is most often used in combination with other treatments, or when other treatments have been unsuccessful.

Tarceva active ingredients

The active ingredient in Tarceva is called erlotinib. Some non-small cell lung cancer cells and pancreatic cancer cells can have a mutation in a protein called EGFR. This mutation can help the cancer cells grow and divide. Erlotinib works by interfering with the way EGFR proteins function, limiting how well they help cancerous cells grow and divide.

Tarceva side effects & drug interactions

Like all medications, Tarceva can have side effects. The most common Tarceva side effects may affect more than 1 in 10 people. These include headaches, depression, loss of appetite, susceptibility to infection, nausea, fatigue, and diarrhea and vomiting. More serious, but rarer side effects can include interstitial lung disease, gastrointestinal perforation, and kidney and liver problems.

These are only some of the side effects Tarceva can cause. See the leaflet that comes with your Tarceva medication for a full list. Talk to your physician or a pharmacist if you have any concerns about Tarceva’s side effects.

Tarceva and other medications can interact. These interactions can increase or decrease the effectiveness of the medications and make side effects more likely. Tell your physician about all the medications you’re taking, including any supplements, particularly:

  • Antifungal medications
  • Protease inhibitors
  • Proteasome inhibitors
  • Erythromycin
  • Clarithromycin
  • Phenytoin
  • Carbamazepine
  • Barbiturates
  • Rifampicin
  • Ciprofloxacin

  • Ranitidine
  • Anticoagulant medications
  • Statins
  • St. John’s Wort
